I am not the actual land owner. Do I still have a claim?
You don’t have to be an landowner to have certain interests in property that are compensable in eminent domain. Examples of this could be if you have a judgment or a lien against the property, or if you’re a tenant, you may have a leasehold interest in the property, but if you ever receive a notice or a lawsuit from the government in an eminent domain action, we recommend that you immediately contact an attorney to investigate just what your property interests are.
